Jonathan Charles Equestrian Lines in Motion Framed Prints - Set of 4

This four-print series reflects Jonathan Charles’ reverence for English equestrian heritage and the expressive immediacy of the artist’s hand. Drawn in ink, riders and horses are captured in fleeting moments of movement, reduced to gesture, line and rhythm rather than formal portraiture.

Rapid marks, broken lines and splashes of ink convey energy and observation in real time, as if lifted from a working sketchbook.

Printed on richly patinated Awagami handmade Japanese paper from the Fujimori family mill in Tokushima, the images carry an archival, time-worn character grounded in a centuries-old craft tradition. Framed in antique gold with linen matting, the series balances raw expression with classical refinement - honoring tradition while celebrating movement, craftsmanship and the enduring spirit of English design.

JC Modern

Eliminating unnecessary detailing doesn’t mean eliminating the perfect details. That’s what sets Jonathan Charles’ modern accents apart from others. Luxurious materials in the hands of craftsmen who have a discerning eye for line, curve, geometry and proportion are transformed into splendid signature pieces that uplift the environment in which they are placed. As opposed to much of the contemporary movement, modern style incorporates practical functionality and ease of use, especially welcome elements in today’s homes.
