Balance Toys

Gadgets inspired by science were popular in the Victorian period. People loved demonstrations of the seemingly impossible. Optical illusions, magnetic forces, the laws of gravity etc, all seemed magical in an era when society was changing fast and the industrial revolution was taking hold of the country. Balance toys became popular in such a time; people wanted their toys to appear different and to be fascinating to the eye.
